9/11
I still remember 9/11, even though I was only 6 years old. That morning me and all my friends were gathered with the rest of the 1st graders. We were sitting there longer than usual, I remember a lot of the teachers were whispering and looked panicked. Then finally one of them came forward and had told us all a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers in New York. I don't think anybody really understood what was happening, but we were old enough to know it was something devastating. All of the televisions were turned on and I watched in horror as the plane crashed into south tower. Someone had spoken up and asked, "Why did that plane crash into the tower?" Another student cried, "Were there people on the plane?" We were too young then to comprehend it all, but as we grew older we would understand the plane had been hijacked and almost 2,000 people lost their lives that day.
