Influential People

The most influential people to me are....

1. God- I can turn to God for absolutely anything, things I'm dealing with that I can't tell to even my best friend sometimes. He is what gives me the most strength and faith.

2. Kelly Clarkson- I have been a fan of Kelly Clarkson's since I was 9 years old. I watched her win American Idol and I've been a fan ever sense. Whenever I'm having a rough day I just blast her music and it automatically puts me into a better mood. She is literally the person that keeps me sane. When I'm  sad or struggling with something I always play the song "The Sun Will Rise" by her. "The sun will rise, when you've lost your lights, it'll be alright." The song basically is saying everyone has their days where they struggle but in the end everything will be okay, things do get better.

3. Demi Lovato- Many people know Demi Lovato as just an annoying Disney Channel star but to me she is one of my biggest idols. Somewhat recently Demi has told her story of her battle with depression, an eating disorder and self harm. I can relate so much to her struggles and it's just nice to know a celebrity that has battled the same things I have/currently are. She went to treatment and recovered, and it gives me strength that I can do the same. I saw her in concert at the MN State Fair and I remember before she sang one of her most popular songs "Skyscraper" she told a little about her battles and said "It wasn't easy, but I made it. And each day I grow stronger. And I know if I can do it you can too. Things do get better, all of you are beautiful and I have faith in you. Stay Strong."

People Like Us

People Like Us: Kelly Clarkson
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-sXkgOFnbg&safe=active

This song is basically about how everyone goes through hard times throughout life, but no matter how tough things get everything will be okay eventually. I love this song so much, not only is it catchy, but the meaning behind it is so powerful. One of my favorite lines is.. "You've just gotta turn it up loud when the flames get higher." That line means even when things are really hard, you just have to keep fighting.

Blogging Review

I love blogging and yes I would like to continue doing it for credit. Blogging is the easiest way to earn hours because it's the most flexible. You can blog about whatever interests you, which makes it really simple to write a lot. There's so many options. You can post political cartoons or opinions for government credit, or you could write a movie review for English credit. Everything you post gets credit. Wether it's English, World History, Government, Science or electives. I'm still undecided what my main theme would be, probably music. On my blog I learned how to create posts and how to add pictures and links.

Kelly Clarkson Releases New Single

It's been 10 years since Kelly Clarkson, at age 19 who is now 30, won American Idol. Since it's been a decade and she's had so much success over the years, next month she will be releasing a greatest hits album. The album will feature singles such as "Miss Independent", "My Life Would Suck Without You" and "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger). Along with some of her greatest hits the album will feature three new songs. Yesterday the world premiere of her new single, "Catch My Breath" aired on, "On Air With Ryan Seacrest." The single will be available for purchase on itunes on Monday, October 15. The album titled "Greatest Hits: Chapter 1" will be available on November 19th and is can currently be pre-ordered on Amazon.

Gay Marriage

Lately on Facebook there have been a lot of debating going on about wether or not gay marriage should be legal in Minnesota. Next month on the November 2012 ballot will be a marriage amendment stating marriage should be between only a man and a women. If you agree, you vote yes. If not, vote no. This year will be my first year voting. I'll be voting no for many reasons. First off everyone deserves the same rights. Everyone should be allowed to marry who they love, no matter the gender. We can't help who we fall in love with and I know if I was told I wasn't allowed to marry the man I love I would be devastated. People who are homosexual are no different than people who are not. There are so many negative things people say about homosexuality. For example it's a sin, it's against my religion etc. Well, just because you don't believe in it doesn't mean you have the right to prevent it from happening. Don't like gay marriage, then don't get one. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't give you any right to take away someone's rights. Everyone has different opinions, but if I don't agree with something I just accept the fact that other people have different beliefs. That's why there's different religions. Saying gay marriage should be illegal is the same thing as saying a specific religion should be illegal. It's not right or fair. My favorite rapper, Macklemore, is one of the very few artists who have come out and support gay marriage. He recently has released a new single called "Same Love" and the link for the music video below is absolutely brilliant. I give so much respect for him. One of my favorite lines is "The right wing conservatives think it’s a decision. And you can be cured with some treatment and religion." I love that line so much because as I said earlier you cannot help who you fall in love with. It's not something you can just quickly change or fix.

Fall Activities

Fall is my second favorite season, my first is summer. I love all the fall colors of the leaves changing on the trees. There's so many fun things to do this time of year. I love going down to the apple orchard and picking apples, which I use to make a homemade apple pie. I also like buying a carmel apple every once in a while. Another thing I love is carving pumpkins and decorating for Halloween. On Halloween I dress up and go to a costume party with my friends. It's always a good time. Before hand I pass out candy to the trick or treaters, which is a lot of fun seeing all the kids happy and dressed up.

Political Cartoon

I think this political cartoon is creative because it uses the "____ for dummies" book series to catch your attention. The cartoon lists negative things about Romney, trying to convince you he's a bad person.

Most Important Lesson In Life

The most important lesson that I've learned in life is "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." A line from a Kelly Clarkson song, which has recently come to mean a lot to me. Pain makes you stronger and sometimes the best lessons are learned through it. My struggles and battles have made me who I am today. Without it I wouldn't be the strong person I am. People who have left my life taught me to learn how to appreciate true friends and know the difference between people who are being honest and those who talk behind your back.

Dream House

This is my dream house. Or anything similar to it. I think the shape and design of the structure is really unique. The location would be somewhere warm. Probably California, Hawaii or Florida. Three of the places I want to travel to the most. It would have an outdoor and indoor pool. There would be a game room/bowling alley with an air hockey table, a pin ball machine, a fools ball table, and a DDR machine. There would be multiple hot tubs, a sana and a trampoline. In the backyard there would be a swing set. Another room would be a movie theatre. In my bedroom there would be a waterslide which led down to the indoor pool. My walls would be large fish tanks filled with tropical fish.

Favorite Sport Team

My favorite sport team is the Minnesota Wild. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch. To me it's the most entertaining. I grew up watching the MN Wild with my mom because she is also a huge fan herself. I remember one year she won a snowmobile and an autographed jersey of Andrew Brunette. My favorite player on the team is Mikko Koivu who plays as a forward.

If my parents were to buy me a vehicle for my birthday I would want a new 2012 Mazda 3. In the Sky Blue color pictured below. Blue is my favorite color, so I'm instantly attracted to this car. And growing up my dad had a Mazda, which I loved. A few years back my mom had gotten into a car accident and her rental car was a brand new Mazda 6. So I guess I've always been attracted to Mazdas.

My dream vacation

If I could travel anywhere in the world I would pick Fiji. It looks absolutely beautiful there. It's an island near New Zealand and Australia. The top picture above is once of the rooms at an underwater hotel in Fiji called Poseidon Undersea Resort. Ever since I was little I have loved and been fascinated with Marine life. It would be so cool to stay at an underwater hotel and be surrounded by all the fish and other Marine life.

What I Would Buy With $150

With $150 dollars I would buy one item. I have plenty of things all ready, I don't need anything like clothes, electronics or animals, but I would love to have an $150 dollar itunes gift card. I recently just lost a lot of my music, and with the $150 itunes gift card I could replace a good chunk of the music I lost. Plus, there is a lot of new music that is recently came out that I really want to buy. Besides music I could also buy apps, movies, television shows, etc. There are a lot of possibilities and options.

Cell Phone Comparison

                                                    Iphone 4s Vs. Iphone 5

Since the iphone 5 is coming out soon, I decided I would compare the difference between it and the last iphone, the iphone 4s.

Iphone 5
Height: 4.87 inches
Width: 2.31
Weight: 3.95 ounces
Display: 4 inch retina display
A6 chip

Iphone 4s
Height: 4.5 inches
Width: 2.31
Weight: 4.9 ounces
Display: 3.5 inch retina display
A5 chip

Really, the only difference is the actual design of the phone. The iphone 5 is taller, and lighter. But the iphone 4s can still perform all the same features. I'm going to keep my iphone 4s instead of buying the iphone 5. It's not worth it and they will come out with a new model by the time my contract is up.

My favorite video game

I grew up with video games. My brother and cousins were always playing them around me, so at a very young age I had began playing them too. The first video game I really got into was Pokemon Red Version for the gameboy color. My brother and I were obsessed. We had collected the cards and watched the cartoon show often. When the games came out I remember my dad took us out to Best Buy and bought Pokemon Red Version for me and as for my brother he had gotten Pokemon Blue Version. That was probably one of the highlights of my childhood. Playing Pokemon with my brother and bonding over something we both really enjoyed. Hands down that's my favorite video game. It's a classic and it was the first game I really played. I sometimes today will still play it. It's very addicting and there's so much to accomplish you don't get bored of it too easily.

9/11

I still remember 9/11, even though I was only 6 years old. That morning me and all my friends were gathered with the rest of the 1st graders. We were sitting there longer than usual, I remember a lot of the teachers were whispering and looked panicked. Then finally one of them came forward and had told us all a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers in New York. I don't think anybody really understood what was happening, but we were old enough to know it was something devastating. All of the televisions were turned on and I watched in horror as the plane crashed into south tower. Someone had spoken up and asked, "Why did that plane crash into the tower?" Another student cried, "Were there people on the plane?" We were too young then to comprehend it all, but as we grew older we would understand the plane had been hijacked and almost 2,000 people lost their lives that day.

Cabin Life-Summer 2012

This last summer has been wonderful. Probably one of the best so far. My favorite part would have to be going up to my friend's cabin one weekend, which is near Hayward, Wisconsin. It was about a two hour drive until we had reached her cabin. It was wooden, like any other typical cabin would be. It was painted a rusty red color and as you walked inside to the left was the living room. When you looked straight ahead you could see part of the kitchen in which the walls were painted a baby blue.  The rest of the walls were maroon. There were three bedrooms and one bathroom. The first night it was rainy and cold. So my friend and I stayed inside made hot chocolate and colored. The next day we went into town and saw a movie and afterwards we went grocery shopping at Walmart. For the rest of the night we watched movies. The third and final day was my favorite. Around two in the afternoon my friend's parents made salads and packed a cooler with hot dogs. We went out on their boat and to a beach where we then grilled the hot dogs and had lunch. While the food was cooking my friend and I built a sand castle, tanned out on the beach and went swimming. It was so nice to get away for a few days. It was absolutely beautiful up there. I can't wait to go back up there soon.

Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuGAG63cOJM

The reason why I love this song so much is because everyone has that side of them they tend to hide away from others and keep to themselves. For me it's opening up to someone and letting them in. I have trust issues and because of that I've built these huge walls. It's really hard for me to let people in because when I have so many of them turned their backs on me and walked out of my life when I needed them most. There's always this fear when I begin to get close to someone that I just assume they will eventually leave so I never allow myself to tear down those walls. I keep that part of myself closed off.

City Of Thieves

In school we are reading this book I find it to be somewhat dull since we have only read the first page.

Since then my opinion has changed. The book is actually interesting, but there is a lot of vulgar language.
